Wild About You Masculine Birthday Card
Dear Susan,
My boyfriend's birthday is coming up on the 14th(Jan) and I want to make him a card, to make him feel special. There's no specific theme, but I want it to look soo cute and adorable!!! So pls I'd really appreciate if you can help me with an idea.
Thanks,
MsSatzy

Handmade greeting cards make a person feel special all on their own, so you are on the right track already. I know men do like receiving hand crafted birthday cards too.
I know you said you didn't have a special theme in mind, but I would probably try to think of a special interest your boyfriend has as a theme.
For example, does he like cars? Go with a picture of his dream car on the card. Put a little picture of you in the car.
Does he like computers? Use a picture of a computer on the card. Add a photo of you to the computer screen.
Then look for a quote about his special interest (or how about a romantic quote?) But just say his interest was dogs. Type 'dogs + quotes' into Google. You will get links to pages with dog quotes on them. Then you can break the quote into two pieces and use half the quote on the front of the card and half on the inside.
If you want to make a card showing how much you love him, go with the romantic quote idea. Search for 'romantic + quotes' on Google and then decorate your card with hearts. Or put on lipstick and kiss the card! Then you will have your own lip prints showing up on the card which will really make it unique. Just remember family members may see the card, so don't make it
too embarrassing :)
I don't know if you have seen this page on PaperCraftCentral about
Father's Day/masculine cards? That page may give you some ideas as well.
Many men like a humourous card. If you want to make a funny card, look for 'birthday jokes' on Google and use one of them on the card, along with an image that helps tell the joke.
For the card shown above, I used the 'Wild About You' quote and an image of a penguin and a small heart stamp to create a cloud over his head to make a cute and humorous card for a grown man in my family. He displayed that card for ages because he liked it a lot.
At the moment it seems robot images are popular. There's a cute robot stamp set in the
Australian Stampin' Up! catalogue on page 58. Or maybe a sporty card would be more like him? Try page 52 of the same catalogue for some stamp sets you might like.
I hope at least one of these suggestions sparks an idea you would like to use. Do ask more questions or give me more information to help me think of something more specific if you like. And have fun making your card.
Susan
