Happy July to everyone, and welcome Paper Twists Issue 26.
I hope you have had a crafty month and that those of you in the USA who celebrated the 4th of July enjoyed the holiday.
In
Australia, we do not have a July holiday as such, but towns and cities
everywhere do have a day off for attending the local Show or Exhibition
of livestock, crafts, baking, and of course, getting to brave the
carnival rides.
Hmm. That makes me think of the Let the Good Times Roll stamp set and Big Shot dies from Stampin' Up!
Wouldn't this set be great for all carnival occasions? I think it would be a brilliant scrapbook page to have a roller coaster on it and a picture of your loved ones riding in a roller coaster car!
In Paper Twists Issue 26, you will find:
Do you have a holiday in your country in July? Do you make cards or scrap pages about it? Perhaps you make treat bags or boxes?
If you do, I would love to see what you have made and find out what your holiday is all about
Drop me a line with your project attached and tell me a story about your holiday.
If
I get enough submissions, I may make a special holiday section on
PaperCraftCentral.com to display them and publish your art work to
illustrate that day. You will get full credit for your entry
Go on, be a star!
Of course, pictures of you making Cards for the Troops will count as celebrating Christmas in July!
And there may be a special little prize for one of you who submit a story and project idea
PS: You may not have noticed but I have run a
number of other Creative Challenges over the years and they are still
there, waiting to inspire and stretch your craft skills. Do have a look
and see if you would like to take one of them up, or contact me if
you have an idea for a challenge we could run on the site.
Here's a lovely collection of Christmas cards from Stampin' Up! to inspire you to make Christmas in July cards:
Have
you noticed how much some people love cats? I must admit, I am one of those people.
Did you know that Stampin' Up! has an adorable stamp set called Pretty Kitty?
I could not resist making a card for my granddaughter's birthday that featured all of them this year. You can see her card and instructions for making it on the Cat Card page.
Here are a couple of other ideas from Stampin' Up! showing you how you could use this sweet stamp set:
Next I am going to order the cute cat punch that Stampin' Up! has available this year. I can't wait to make some projects with it.
I think a cat
punch shape would look so sweet on a scrapbook page about our purrfect
pets. I'll let you know when I get to make a card or a page using the
cat punch.
Oh and Teddy, my faithful Craft Dog, is nudging me
now, saying what is good for cats is good for dogs, and when am I going
to make a dog card??
Little does he know. I already did that.
Here's a card I made one of my grandsons with the cute Bella and Friends
stamp set from Stampin' Up!:
And here is another idea for using Bella and Friends from Stampin' Up! They used a mask and some Embossing Paste and inks to create the lovely cloud background:
Of course dogs are as important as cats, in my book!
