Antique or vintage music sheets for paper craft work
by Ute Bard
(Newton, Lancashire, UK)
A Christmas card using handmade music background
Hello Susan,
just found your site and wondered if you can help me.
We are antiquarian and vintage sheet music dealers in the north of England.
With all the collections we buy we often get music sheets which are not complete or for another reason not usable.
However....its a shame for this wonderful paper to go to waste. Often it is more than 100 years old.....
I do make things for myself with it but I can't manage to use it all ....
So my question is....do you have an idea who could be interested in something like this.
I would sell it really cheap and the postage is also not so expensive within the UK.
If you can help me, please let me know.
Best wishes
UTE

**************************Hello Ute
Thank you for your email. Since I have been in contact with you and have your permission to publish your email address, I will go ahead and let others know you have some Antique/ vintage music sheets for paper craft work.
If you get a chance to send me a photo of some of the music, that would be helpful.
Everyone, you can use old sheet music as backgrounds for card fronts, on scrapbook pages, to
make paper flowers, to cover 3d elements, etc.
The paper will continue to yellow with age as sheet music is not an archival quality scrapbook supply as it has
lignin in it, but it will be very appealing for your vintage projects.
Do isolate any photos from it if you are concerned about long term damage due to the lignin, but otherwise it is not a problem to use in papercrafts.
The thought of using 100 year old sheet music in your projects is awe-inspiring! I made the music in the above photo with cardstock and ink and a distressing tool, so I can only imagine how my project would look with some of Ute's ancient scores.
Happy crafting.
Susan
